And isn’t it ironic…

Its like Amazon but your package never came,                                its like Netflix but you own DVDs,                                                       its a free ride but your Ubers down the street,                                 its singing Ironic but there are no ironies,                                        and who would’ve thought it figures.                                                Well life has a funny, funny way of sneaking up on you…

For instance, the fact that Alanis Morissette’s Jagged Little Pill is over twenty years old ,               Isn’t it IRONIC?!

I ran into a little writers block when coming to terms with this weeks #ThrowbackThursday Jam, thats when I turned to my roommate and said, “give me a throwback artist”. Not even a second breath was needed for Alanis Morissette’s name to come running out of her mouth. Its funny because I could have told you she would say Alanis. And, how ironic! LOL.

It was the mid 90s when Morissette’s career really took off. She is known as one of the most unlikely stars of the 1990s, but immediaelty rose to fame all thanks to her third album, Jagged Little Pill. The Canadian native, transformed into this edgy, alternative rockstar that swept the charts for a continuous 69 weeks. The subsequent singles of this album, “Hand in My Pocket”, “All I Really Want”, “You Learn”, and “Ironic”, are ones that really made the summer of ’95 memorable, for those of you that remember.

This iconic artist is one that allows for spontaneous kitchen dance parties, throat-throbbin’ car jammin’, and can console every heart-wrenching break-up, at least for me and my roomie she does.

Let Alanis be that girl for you, because I bet she’s the composer to some of your ultimate  throwbacks or like my house, an eternal music goddess.

So, thank you Alanis Morissette. This #ThrowbackThursdayJam goes out to you!

And for your amusement, PLEASE, watch this. You won’t be disappointed.
