HAPPY ST.PATRICKS DAY SHAMS ☘

Most people don’t even know what they are drinking for when March 17th comes around, so today I’ll give you the reason for your drunken lullaby shenanigans. 

In Irish, or Gaelic, today is Lá Fhéile Pádraig, “the Day of the Festival of Patrick”. Many Irish are celebrating the death date of Saint Patrick ( c. AD 385–461), the foremost patron saint of Ireland.  Saint Patrick’s Day, or the Feast of Saint Patrick  is a cultural and religious celebration held on March 17. 

Its a day of cheer, laughter, camaraderie and Guinness.

Because St. Patrick was close to the big man upstairs, today is day that Christians are allowed to put aside their Lenten restrictions on food and alcohol consumption, which is why excessive drinking has become so permanently linked to the celebration.
